We interrupt your Saturday to bring to your attention that the final days of the campaign for NPC JUMP #3 are upon us. The project ends on Tuesday at noon (EST), it's fully funded and we are currently hoping to provide all backers with a free copy of THE DEFENSE #1 via stretch goal. 

If you enjoyed the first two issues of NPC JUMP, well, you've got great taste in comics. All the more reason we don't want you to miss the third. This is the PENULTIMATE chapter (such a cool word), I'm almost finished with the script to the final issue #4 and there are so many twists and turns over the course of the last two issues of this crazy adventure, you won't want to miss a beat.

New Painiacs!

You may have gotten an email notifying you that the campaign for NPC JUMP #3 is now live. After issue #2's brick wall of a cliffhanger, we don't want you to miss out on seeing how the story continues, hence this extra note.

If I do say so myself, this is our wildest issue yet, full of turns and twists and lefts and rights and ups and downs until we reach our biggest cliffhanger to date. Plus, this issue (somehow) features a guest appearance by DAYBREAK herself, complete with a variant cover by DB co-creator STEFAN TOSHEFF. Speaking of variants, I also drew one and so did our beloved Rich Stahnke (a STUNNING one), all to complement the main cover by our main man, CARLOS RENO.

It's getting late in the day but we wanted to share the news that, finally, JUMP #3 is ready for takeoff!

JUMP #3 production update

New Painiacs! 

It's been a minute for this project, sorry it's taken some time to circle back and update everyone on the latest JUMP news. 

Which is all good, I'm happy to say. 

Our beloved layout artist, Carlos Reno, had quite a bit of work on his plate and it took time for him to fit the third issue of JUMP into his schedule. However, we're happy to report that not did Carlos finish laying out the third issue a few weeks ago but I was able to tackle the layouts in short order and currently only have three pages left to finish/ink (and roughly half the book left to letter). Our equally beloved color artist, Rich Stahnke, has about half the book crayola'd, too so if you're doing the math, we're very close to the finish line on this issue.

We apologize for the delay; even putting out the book on a bi-annual basis (our targeted goal) is excruciatingly slow. Tacking on a few extra months to the schedule feels like torture, you have no idea all the twists and turns that are waiting in this chapter. But stay tuned, it looks like we'll be offering JUMP #3 in July, platform still to be determined.

THAT LEADS US TO...

The New Pain Challenge for issue #2 is officially closed. We didn't get quite as many entries this time around, 14 in total, but definitely some interesting guesses as to how the story will continue. Was anyone right? Stay tuned to find out. 

IN THE MEANTIME!

Have you checked out ELECTRICIA #1 yet? The prequel/sequel to THE SWITCH: ELECTRICIA by myself, Tom Nguyen and Rich Stahnke funded in just under 24 hours, punched out its first stretch goal (an extra 8-page back up story) and is making progress towards it's 2nd stretch goal. 

Obviously I'm biased but is ELECTRICIA #1 my favorite New Pain book so far? POSSIBLE! Is it the best work Tom has ever drawn? DEFINITELY! If you want to check it out, just click the cover or link above and join the party.

Last call for challenge entries!

New Painiacs!

As you know, the 'NPC' in the title "NPC JUMP" stands for "NEW PAIN CHALLENGE." The idea is simple: each issue ends with an impossible cliffhanger BUT the creative team sneaks some clues into the story and it's up to you, dear reader, to piece the puzzle together and give us your best guess as to how The Jump's story will continue.

Issue #1 ended with The Jump's death at the hands of Armageddon but we weaved and dodged and time jumped ahead to continue the tale. We upped the ante with the ending to Issue #2 when our villain, Armageddon, seemingly erased the entire universe. A pretty definitive, impossible cliffhanger if we do say so ourselves. 

But the clues are there, New Painiacs, and now it's your time to give us your best guess as to how The Jump can continue into the third issue. If you're feeling stumped, don't worry. We're going to give you another hint.

We would kindly ask you that if you're going to participate in the New Pain Challenge to please submit your guesses to [email protected] by MARCH 15th. That will give us time to work one lucky winner into the third issue before we wrap up production in about six weeks or so. 

There were some really creative, smart and clever ideas as to how issue #1 would continue and we can't wait to read your guesses for #2. 

IN OTHER NEWS

Have you heard that we currently have not one but TWO campaigns running right now? 

The pre-order campaign for DAYBREAK! THE COMPLETE SERIES is currently 90% funded on Backerkit. The campaign ends in 8 days so we've got our fingers crossed that with a little gumption and some luck, the remastered and collected edition of our critically-acclaimed Daybreak! series will reach its funding goal. 

Meanwhile, on Kickstarter, the first issue of THE DEFENSE is currently funded with 13 days left.
