Super quick update to let all of you know that 1) your cards were charged for shipping yesterday; and to collect addresses, which will be locked down shortly 2) the back up story was completed and the files have been delivered to the printer and 3) THE DIGITAL REWARDS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED. As long as your card was successfully charged, your copies of NPC JUMP #2 (and #1, if you added it on) and THE OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE NEW PAIN UNIVERSE should be waiting for you in your inbox along with this update.
If you didn't receive your digital reward, please let us know at [email protected] and we'll double check the distribution.
ALSO...If you plan on taking the NEW PAIN CHALLENGE for the second issue and guessing how the story will continue (because the #2 cliffhanger is pretty final), it wouldn't hurt you to skim The Jump-related entries in the Handbook first. Maybe it'll help, maybe it won't but you'll get some additional context to the characters that definitely won't hurt. You can submit your guesses to the same email address above. Rich Stahnke is not eligible to participate because he's already read the script to #3.

last call for surveys

Good morning, New Painiacs!
Much like when you've been warming the stool at your favorite bar until closing time, it's LAST CALL to fill out your surveys.
The fulfillment of this campaign has been running late because of delays in completing the art for the 8-page back up story. We are waiting for the 8th page to be turned in so it can be colored and will then be zipping the files up and over to the printer.
We'll also be sending our print numbers along with the files but to do that, we need to lock orders. To lock orders, we need as many surveys as possible filled out. There are currently 20% of you that haven't completed your survey yet; if you'd be so kind, we'd appreciate it. You'll also get your books much faster during the initial fulfillment wave.
Our hope is to lock orders over the weekend and proceed to next steps early next week. Sincere apologies for the delay; no one is more frustrated when things run late than I am.

Hi New Painiacs-
We wanted to send you out a quick reminder to complete your surveys! About 30% of you still need to do so. We want everyone to get the books and rewards you pledge for so let's get your addresses locked in and shipping taken care of. I read NPC JUMP #2 last week and it really surprised me. The direction it takes is very unexpected. I think you guys will really be surprised too!
Page one of the back up story has been inked and was sent out to be colored this morning. The team hopes to have it finished by late next week and then all the files will be sent to the printer. If that timetable changes, I'm sure Keith or I will update you.

Surveys have left the nest!

Hey New Painiacs!
I'm told that the rest of the surveys were sent out a couple of hours ago. If you don't see your survey when you check your email, let us know ([email protected]) and we'll figure out why.
If you can return your survey by the 26th of this month, that'll enable us to establish our final order numbers for these projects. We'll continue to work on the back-up story in the meantime. It seems likely that fulfillment will run into October at this point, just based on the lead times for surveys and printing. We'll keep you posted if we gain any ground.
In the meantime, if you're planning on attending the Baltimore Comic Con this weekend, I have it on good authority that Tom Nguyen and I will be at the show. Please stop by and say hello! I also heard a rumor that good friend of New Pain and the King of Strider Nolan Media, Michael Katz, will also be at the show. Mike has published some great comics, by all means check his table out too!

What?! Surveys?????

New Painiacs!
The surveys were submitted to Backerkit this morning for approval. Normally, it takes several days for approval; often there are changes or corrections suggested by Backerkit customer service. However, in some kind of strange, unicorn-like happening, the surveys were approved in less than an hour. A new world record? Maybe so, someone call Guiness!
So, long update shortened, the "smoke test" surveys have been sent out to 5% of you this morning. As long as no issues crop up, the rest of the surveys will be sent out Monday or Tuesday of next week. A little faster than we imagined but it gives you guys a little longer to fill out and return them. Your cards won't be charged for shipping or any new items added to your carts until close to October, when we're on the verge of having the project fulfilled.
